Enact Helps Fuel NEA Conference Success
Enact and CROSS Funding Partnership unite against Fuel Poverty at NEA Annual Conference
Award winning energy consultancy Enact Energy Management Ltd was more than happy to attend this year’s National Energy Action (NEA) Annual Conference, held at Birmingham University, on 15th-17th September, in a bid to tackle and overcome fuel poverty in UK homes.
The unquestionable success of this year’s NEA Conference may come as no surprise considering that now more than ever a fundamental need to tackle the detrimental causes and effects of fuel poverty exists. This year Enact showed its utmost support for this topical concern by promoting its nationwide Heat Project, a scheme that has provided grant assisted loft and cavity wall insulation to privately owned and rented homes nationwide since 1997.
Also promoted alongside the Heat Project at the event was the Enact managed, LGA accredited Carbon Reduction One Stop Shop (CROSS) Funding Partnership, which promotes the reduction of carbon emissions and improved energy efficiency in social housing. This innovative, forward thinking project is designed to unite energy suppliers, social housing providers and government bodies, in a bid to meet environmental targets, as well as improve the lives of those living in social housing. A unique auction process whereby group CO2 savings from social housing are bid for by energy suppliers, benefits all parties involved and could be the key to a quicker eradication of fuel poverty and a rapid increase in UK home energy efficiency.
Enact was happy to explicitly endorse its continued membership of the Business Supporters Group with the NEA by exhibiting at the conference. By supporting the NEA’s ultimate goal of tackling fuel poverty Enact endeavours to help raise awareness and promote knowledge around the issue, which is closely associated with high fuel bills, low income, and most significantly poor energy efficiency within the home.
Attendance at the conference allowed Enact to make new contacts and consolidate existing ones, pushing the barriers for change, towards a more energy efficient nation. In addition the event allowed Enact to remain aware of the most current burning issues in relation to the reduction of fuel poverty and increased energy efficiency, placing them in a position to act most effectively for their clients. The benefits to Enact will be seen as their clientele continues to grow, and they are able to serve a wide audience with their very worthwhile energy saving projects, reducing CO2 emissions and ultimately the UKs carbon footprint.
Enact would like to thank NEA for such a valued event, and looks forward to attending The NEA Annual Conference 2009.
